The Gods of Carthage

The great trading capital of Carthage was said to have been founded in the last part of the ninth century BCE. The Greek historian, Polybius, set the date at 814-813BCE and radio carbon dating of the ruins credits that date.

According to legend, Carthage was founded by Dido (Elissa), a princess of Tyre. Fleeing the treachery of her brother, she and her followers took the royal treasury and fled Tyre. They eventually landed on the northern coast of Africa and founded the city of Carthage.

Regardless of the details, Tyrian colonists founded Carthage and brought their Gods with them. Consequently, Carthage's Gods have a lot in common with those of Tyre. Here are a few of the primary Gods mentioned in Forged By Lightning.
